Experience the best of the Big Island's sights, microclimates, traditions, and gourmet food and drinks in one day. Limited to 12 people, this day tour takes you around the island to enjoy sweeping views of Kona, Ka'u and Hamakua coastlines - and our favorite stops in between. Everything is taken care of for you, from hotel pickup and drop-off and meals to a carefully planned route and stops, to make the most of your day.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Premium Kona Coffee Farm - What better way to start the day than with complimentary coffee? That's just what you get to do as we cruise through the historic Kona district into the heart of coffee country. Breathe in the mountain air at one of our favorite coffee roasters while sampling a wide selection of Kona coffees. Enjoy a fresh island-style continental breakfast overlooking the expansive Kona coastline.
• Punalu'u Bake Shop - The southernmost bakery in the U.S.! Delight in fresh Hawaiian sweetbreads and Portuguese-inspired malasadas. This is a beloved spot by locals and travelers alike on the south side of the Big Island. Time permitting, grab extra baked goods for our next stop to a black sand beach (own expense).
• Punalu'u Black Sand Beach - This stunning beach is home to many nesting Hawaiian sea turtles, also known as honu. Your guide shows you the best places to see the sea turtles as they bask in the sun on the beach, though we cannot guarantee sightings. Along with enjoying the wildlife and scenery, you also get to learn more about how many Polynesian explorers first came ashore on the island.
• Volcano Winery & Tea Farm- For lunch, enjoy a stop at a private farm for a meal and tastings that is exclusive to Kailani Tours' guests. The winery and adjacent tea farm sit on the slopes of Mauna Loa in the town called Volcano. Here, sample unique wines grown in the rich volcanic soil at some 4,000 feet in elevation. After lunch and a stroll of the lush grounds, you can spend time in the gift shop to grab your favorites or arrange orders to be shipped back to your home.
• Hawaii Volcanoes National Park - For many visitors, seeing a Big Island volcano is a real highlight of their trip. On this tour, expect a visit that lasts over an hour in the crown jewel of the Big Island - Hawaii Volcanoes National Park - which contains two of the world's most active volcanoes: Kilauea and Mauna Loa. From sea level to the peak, Mauna Loa stretches 13,667 feet above sea level, making it the world's largest volcano. The park is a designated International Biosphere Reserve, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The visitors' center hosts interesting and interactive displays, something to look at in between visits to see and feel the heat of steam vents and view Kilauea and Kilauea Iki craters. During the visit, you can also take a short hike through Thurston Lava Tube. Please note: In the event of an active lava flow or an eruption, we will not be able to access certain parts of the park.
• Rainbow Falls - This 80-foot falls plunges over a natural lava cave and into the Wailuku River below. It is said that the Hawaiian goddess Hina, mother of the storied demigod Maui, dwells in the lava cave behind Rainbow Falls. On a sunny day, rainbows appear in the mist of the falls, making for a magical view.
